View Full Version : Streaming To LG TV always buffering.

I have just changed tv to an LG55LF630 and no matter what type of film file I try to watch it keeps buffering. Also navigating from folder to folder is so slow. My previous TV a samsung had no such issues. TV and computer are connected with a 1GB ethernet cable. Computer is an I7 quad core, 32gb Ram so certainly no bottleneck there.

I have noticed there is no specific profile for 2015 LG TV's if this could make a difference.

Also will mezzmo 5 have the ability to embed artwork into the video file.

Have just done some fault finding. Tried streaming on Plex and then Serviio and both streamed everything perfectly. So I would hazard a guess as to the problem lies with Mezzmo somehow.

As mentioned your other post, email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll provide a device profile to try.

Paul I tried the new profile but no difference. The whole process from selecting mezzmo on my tv to actually getting access to folders is painfully slow if not sometimes just never gets there. Im hoping its an easy fix whatever it is as serviio is not a patch on mezzmo. Most of the time while its waiting to open a folder I get an Unstable Connection message on TV but this has nothing to do with the TV as if I switch to serviio everything works flawlessly. Seems a bit strange this one.

Problem in DLNA LG TVs
I have the same!
But .. if I connect to the server mezzmo via DLNA from hardware mediaplayera (as a DLNA client for mezzmo) and then output signal through HDMI to LG TV - everything works perfectly!
and it flows on to 34-40 megabits per second!
From this I conclude that the implementation of the protocol DLNA in LG TV can not work with large flows.

What about reducing the Packet Size? as per this FAQ http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6538-Tutorial-How-to-reduce-excessive-stuttering-or-buffering-when-streaming-videos

Tim I dont think that is the case though. If I use serviio as I am until a solution is found everything works absolutely fine as it should. Also when I tried Tversity and Plex again absolutely no problems so its clearly a mezzmo issue and not the TV.

But it might depend on the packet size that those other servers use.

In my situation I couldn't FF/REW MKVs on my Panasonic TV using Mezzmo but my Synology NAS was perfectly fine. I made the packetsize change & now Mezzmo is fine as well. So just because it works OK with 1 media server doesn't mean it's not a problem for Mezzmo.

Nothing to lose by trying it.

Hi Marshall1975,

It's best we see a set of logs when this occurs. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo from your TV and try to browse some playlists and play a few files. Then, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
