Hello,
I'm a registered user of Mezzmo waiting for upcoming version 5.0.
I read that h.265 (HEVC) video encoding will be included as new feature therefore I'd like to change my server hardware (old AMD Athlon II X4 630, 4GB RAM) to a more performing AMD A10-7860K APU and 16GB RAM since this APU is supporting h.265/hevc as well.
May you confirm that Mezzmo 5.0 will take advantage of this APU in HEVC video encoding as well as in any other transcoding task?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry, the upcoming Mezzmo v5.0 will not have support for AMD APU. Mezzmo uses FFmpeg for audio & video encoding, and FFmpeg does not (yet) have support for AMD APU. The upcoming Mezzmo v5.0 will have support for Intel Quick Sync hardware encoding.

Since I wanna move to an i5-3570S, seems that CPU is supporting Intel Quick Sync hardware encoding from the Intel web page http://ark.intel.com/products/65701/Intel-Core-i5-3570S-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz.
May you confirm also that for h.265/HEVC?
Thanks

Hi,
new processors that support Intel Quick Sync should support hevc encoding, Mezzmo does not currently use Quick Sync for encoding hevc videos so we would need to add support for this in a future update.
