Chromecast Audio?

Hey guys, I wanted to report that the Chromecast Audio is detected by the Mezzmo desktop app as a device but it's not detected or it's ignored by the Android app. I can't cast anything to it.
Perhaps you have it hidden so people don't try to cast video or pictures to it, if that's the case at least it should be optional to make it available.

Hi,
the Mezzmo Android app should detect the Chromecast Audio device just like a normal Chromecast as they both use the same APIs. It is possible that we may need to update the SDK used by the Android app to support the Audio Chromecast so we will investigate to see if this is the case. Can you please try going to the devices page in the Android app and press the refresh button on the action bar to see if the Chromecast Audio device is discovered?

We can also let you try version 2.0 of the android app to see if this discovers the Audio Chromecast, please send an email to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we can add you to the beta group.

Forgot to mention, I'm on the 2.0 beta. Refreshing does nothing. Is it possible that only one Chromecast is listed on the app when you have multiple?

The app can list multiple chromecasts so it is not a problem to have multiple chromecast devices on the network. We have made a change to the information about the app registered with Google to enable support for Chromecast audio, this may take several hours to take effect. Please let us know if the Chromecast audio device is discovered by the Mezzmo app in the next few days.

I rebooted the Audio and now it appears but the others still don't, only one shows up.

So the Mezzmo app is now showing the Chromecast Audio and one of the Chromecasts that supports video?
Can you please check using the YouTube app to see if it shows both of the other Chromecasts?

No, it only shows one Chromecast, in this case, the Audio. The others are nos hidden. Always only one, I thought that the Audio wasn't being picked up but it wasn't the case.

The reason the Chromecast audio now appears is probably due to the change we made in the Mezzmo app's chromecast registration information. If you turn off the Chromecast Audio does one of the video Chromecasts appear in the device list?
