Hi Paul

I'm here again with installed Mezzmo V5.0.4.0.
The cover-search from V4.x has returned well. I thought. But there are many problems with this function.
I will tell you some issues with my mezzmo.

1) Mezzmo finds covers and backgrounds, but for my database not more than 50%. The rest shows wrong or no covers.

2) Searching manually for covers is realy "wasting time". For several searches I got more than 70 results, but for the searched object, there were only 2 or 3 similar hits (for example, the band was found, but not the cover of my search).
The rest has absolutely no relation to my input. An example for retrying: Search was :"The Cream", found 3 or 4 pictures of the band Cream, no cover but 50 or 60 ice-cream pictures. Nice!
The search in V4.x before it has broken was really more efficient. Whatever happened.

3) On rebuilding database (all types selected, actualyse all files) Mezzmo starts working. Looks good. After 5 or 6 minutes amounts are not counting down anymore. AND: Mezzmo has frozen. I must kill mezzmo-process because a normal close of the application is not possible.
Restarting mezzmo, the countdown of covers, video-pictures and movie files restarts. After some minutes the same issue. Frozen Mezzmo, only kill is possible.
After the 4th restart, 6240 covers remaining and nothing more happens. I waited 3 or 4 hours to give mezzmo time enough.
I have added the status of rebuilding db with the same count as 6 hours before and the logs till pending the frozen mezzmo-app.

Can you give me your view, what happend with V5.0.4.0?

I'm not happy with the new version at this time. But I'm looking forward.

Nice time
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Sorry for the problems. We can see an issue in your logs. Please do the following:

Stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app.
Using Windows Explorer, go to your Mezzmo database folder (typically - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo)
Zip the "MezzmoAlbumArt.*" files and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
If Mezzmo is not usable at the moment, you can delete the "MezzmoAlbumArt.*" files and it should fine again. These files are the queue of album artwork that Mezzmo is trying to download from the web. Deleting the files will remove all files from the album artwork queue - but at least you will be up and running again. We'll investigate these database files here and replicate your error & fix the problem.

Dear Paul
I received your files, copied them as described in the mail and started mezzmo.
Everything looks pretty good.

I've tried: Rebuild the complete database. No freezing, counting down regulary until the end without stops.
I have updated the covers from my audio-cds. Rebuild ok without freezing just as the complete rebuild.
So I think, my issues are solved.
THANK YOU!!!

One thing on the way:
The quality of the found covers is very pour. In my case:
20% were not found although the manual search found them as first picture.
More than 50% of the found covers were wrong. Manual search found all without problems.

The amount of wrong results is extremly below the accuracy of Mezzmo V4.x. unfortunately.

I hope, this will get better in future subversions.

Thank you for the perfect help.
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Glad it working better now. Regarding the artwork quality, can you post here (or email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com) some examples where Mezzmo's auto artwork search produced poor quality artwork vs. manual search producing better quality artwork. That will let us reproduce the problem here and fix it up.

Hi Paul

I have researched all wrong covers in my db manually, so I am not able - at this time - to send you examples.
But in future, when this case appears, I will give you some examples.

Thank you for your help!

OK - we're keen to improve the collection of album artwork, so please do email us examples when you come across them. Many thanks.
