I have over 2,000 Movies, TV shows and Science videos I accumulated over the years. As I saved them, each movie title is in its own folder. The folder has the same name as the movie and a jpg image of the cover and a txt file with the description is also in this folder with the same name as the video.
Example:
Folder name = Back to the Future
Video name = Back to the Future.mkv
Cover name = Back to the Future.jpg
Descr. name = Back to the Future.txt

Only about half of the movies covers and descriptions Mezzmo gathered from the internet are correct. The other half basically took a clip from the video to create the library image and no description since it couldn't find any.

How can I tell Mezzmo to use the jpg for the image and the txt file for the description located in the same folder with the same name as the movie for these videos and movies?

I know I can do it one at a time, but it's impossible to go through 1,000 of these one at a time.

Mezzmo can pick up your <filename>.jpg files and use them when you add your videos into Mezzmo or when you maintain your library. There are settings to turn this on/ff.

Try this:

Go to the Options dialog (Retrieving Metadata page) and click the 'Metadata Retrieval Settings' button.
On the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog, make sure that the "Get artwork from external files(<filename>.jpg, folder.jpg)" checkbox is checked and click OK to save your changes.
Right-click on a folder or playlist in the tree that contains a bunch of your movies and click 'Maintain Playlist'.
On the Maintain Playlist dialog, select the "Update artwork" checkbox and de-select the "Update media properties" and "Update subtitles" checkboxes. Select the "Update all attributes" radio button and click "Maintain Now" button. Mezzmo will scan through all files in this playlist / folder and update the artwork. It will pick up your JPG files and use them.

Regarding your TXT metadata files, Mezzmo can read all popular external text metadata files - .NFO, .XML, .TGMD, etc. I am not sure what format your TXT files are. Can you post the contents of one of them here or email one to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com? That will help us understand what format the TXT file is and we can let you know if Mezzmo supports reading it or not.
