View Full Version : Mezzmo Web Access issue from new iOS based device?

Hi All,

Anybody tried using the Mezzmo web access from say a new model iPad device?

Web access page / interface does not load at all for me using either Safari or Firefox apps on a new iPad Air 2 with iOS 9 yet on my daughter's older iPad 2 with older v6 revision of iOS, the web access loads and works perfectly fine?

Similarly I can reach the Mezzmo web access completely fine remotely from my work computer as a test too.

So I don't believe it has anything to do with a back end configuration issue.

Any advice or remedy on this quirk?

Cheers

Hi,
we tried loading the web access on an iPad here running 9.3.2 and the web access page loaded in safari and firefox. Do you see an error in the web browser on the iPad Air 2 or does it just fail to go to the page?

Hi Peter,

In Safari it comes back with a message ''Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server"

In Firefox it comes back with a message "Could not connect to the server" NSURLErrorDomain

Initially I thought it was somehow DNS related and yet in each app and using very same browser window and session which shows above noted failure messages, I can then type multiple new web addresses (whatever sites that may be) and everything works fine! Sites resolve OK.
I bring my daughter's older iPad 2 along side my iPad Air 2 and type Mezzmo web access site using same web site path and that works perfectly fine.

Very bizarre and peculiar goings on!

Hi,
are you using the IP address of the computer running the Mezzmo server or the computer name in the URL path (i.e. http://192.168.0.50:53168/web or http://mycomputer:53168/web). I have seen some posts reporting that newer iPads cannot resolve host names on the local network. When testing here we used the IP address.

Hi Peter,

I think I haven't been clear enough earlier.

On the local network, web access works ok but the whole point and concept of the web access is to be accessible remotely from off the LAN I would have thought isn't it?
That is where the problem exists here with the iPad Air 2 I have running iOS 9.3.2

I use dynamic dns for remote connectivity to any of my devices / services when required and as I've said, from my work computer and from my daughter's older iPad all works fine connecting remotely back to Mezzmo home. Yet no joy to use the iPad Air 2 with earlier behaviour (errors) noted.

Rather minor in the scheme of things, but sure getting to be a very annoying situation!

Cheers

Hi,
Please try using the IP address instead of the dynamic dns name to see if this allows the page to be loaded as it could be a DNS issue. Also please check to see if the web access works in the local network using the local IP address and this will help narrow it down to see if it is a DNS issue.
