Long time Mezzmo Pro user (5+ years) and recently upgraded to 5.0.4 and then to 5.0.5. Since the upgrade the app has been basically unusable. Constant service crashes. 95% of the time when the service is running my media devices (LG TV, Amazon Firestick, Oppo Blu-Ray) are unable to access the application.

During times the service is running I have confirmed through netstat that the application is listening (default tcp port) and my server definitely has network connectivity it is either not accepting connections or the tcp connections is in a time_wait state.

The thing only that has changed with my setup is the change from 4.x Mezzmo to 5.0.x. I have experimented with changing the announce time of the app from the default of 30 minutes to various times such as 300 seconds, 60 seconds, etc, but this has not yield any change.

Immediately after restarting the service my devices can regain access to the app and browse my database, but attempting to stream media (any media including that which doesn't require transcoding such as .mkv) it is constantly buffering.

I've did enabled logging today and can provide those logs.

Info:

Mezzmo 5.0.5 running as a Windows service
Window 7 64bit - all latest patches
All devices except Amazon firestick (*Mezzmo app installed) using wired GB LAN
No network connectivity issues
Running 4.x I had no issues.

Thanks - we found a problem with Mezzmo v5.0.5.0 and fixed it just now. We've replaced the Mezzmo v5.0.5.0 installer on our web site with the fixed version (note: version number is the same). I suggest you download the latest Mezzmo installer from http://www.mezzmo.com and run it. You don't need to uninstall your current Mezzmo. The Mezzmo installer will detect your current Mezzmo and prompt you to repair it. Click Yes and Mezzmo will repair your Mezzmo fileset. Hopefully Mezzmo runs better now.

What changed between 5.0.4 and 5.0.5 ?

Changelog here - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/8812-Mezzmo-v5-0-5-0-is-available-now!

We did find a problem with the initial v5.0.5.0 release and fixed the issue soon after. We have updated the Mezzmo installer and autoupdate package on our web site (it has the same v5.0.5.0 version).

If you are experiencing crashes in Mezzmo server, then we recommend you download the full Mezzmo installer from www.mezzmo.com and run it. You do not need to uninstall your current Mezzmo. The Mezzmo installer will detect your current Mezzmo and prompt you to repair it. Click Yes and the Mezzmo installer will update your fileset. It should work fine now.

I was forced to roll back to 4.1.3 also.

To clarify ... I was seeing both app crashes, complete with dumps, as well as the service its self constantly stopping. Looking at the logs I was seeing mostly constant issues with the DB running out of memory and/or the app unable to locate the DB.

Now that I'm back on 4.1.3 absolutely zero issues.

I did send via email a link to a crashdump up on dropbox. I hope it helps. For the time being, however, I'm going to have to continue to use v4.

can I use the current installer as the upgrade from previous version of Mezzmo as I chose to do a restore of the whole media server OS just to get to a stable version?

You can use the current Mezzmo installer on www.mezzmo.com to upgrade your existing Mezzmo. It has the correct, working fileset. Let us know if you have any problems.

I had to revert back to 4.1.3 also, some reason the 5+ just constantly crashes, or fails to load folders on my TV.

For those that don't know the link to 4.1.3
