I just bought the new version of Amazon Fire TV Stick. For some reason I can't see SRT subtitles on videos. I find no way or option available to activate or set this option.

Hi,
if you are using the Mezzmo app there should be a CC icon on the video player that you can press to enable or disable subtitles. Please check to make sure you have selected the 'Conceiva Mezzmo (Android)' profile for the device in 'Media Devices'.

I'm using the Mezzmo App. No CC icon on media player (I can see Sound Icon is Present). I can't find any option to select the "Conceiva Mezzmo (Android)'profile" for the Device but it looks it was selected by default on the main screen of the app: Device / Mezzmo (Android AFTT ) (Local). Please consider I'm using the Mezzmo Trial Version (App) under the new Amazon Fire Stick (2nd generation) just launched today.

The Mezzmo app will only show subtitles if the server provides the URL to the subtitle srt file. The Mezzmo media server on your PC should do this if it finds the subtitles. The Mezzmo application on your PC is also where you should set the device profile to Conceiva Mezzmo (Android). If you are streaming from a different server then this might be why the subtitles are not appearing, are you using the Mezzmo server or a different server?

I'm using a different server: what I have is a Netgear NAS Duo. All looks good except for the Subtitles function. Why the CC icon is not present? Is it supposed this function is disabled if Subtitles are not available?

Hi,
the CC icon will be hidden if the server does not provide the URL for the subtitles, it is likely that the Netgear NAS Duo server is not finding the subtitles or is not sending them to the Mezzmo app.

My NAS Duo supports displaying external subtitle files. Don't you think it can be a problem with the Mezzmo App? Have you tested the subtitle option with the new Amazon Fire TV Stick (2nd generation)?

The Mezzmo app expects the server to provide a resource item in the response to the browse with the mimetype containing 'text/', 'smi/' or 'application/x-srt'. If there is no resource provided like this then no subtitles will be available. If you enable logging in the settings of the Mezzmo app then exit the app and start it again then browse to a file that should have subtitles and try to play it. Then go back to settings and disable logging. To get the log file you can try clicking View log files as this should launch an email app if it is available, otherwise you will need to install a file explorer like ES File Explorer then go to the sd card and in the Conceiva/Mezzmo folder you should find the logs. You will need to copy the logs to another location on the network that you can access from your PC then email the log to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we can view the response from the server.

Thank you. I emailed you the log. Subject on email: "LOG Subtitles on Amazon Fire TV Stick (Remis)"

Thanks for the log, it shows the server is not delivering any subtitle URLs. Only the video URLs are provided so this is why the Mezzmo app is not showing the subtitles. You will need to check to see if the server has any settings you can configure to make it send the subtitles to the Mezzmo app along with the video URLs. Otherwise you can use Mezzmo as the server on your PC and this will provide the subtitles.
