Hi

Happy new year to all members. I am a new user to Mezmmo and would appreciate some advise with transcoding issues. My movie collection consists of mainly mkv with DTS 5.1 audio. I am trying to play them on my Panasonic Viera 55CX700 Series tv. I know the tv can not handle DTS, so some movies will need transcoding. The default profile was set to the 2013 Base model, however this results in audio being transcoded to mp3 but I would like it to be transcoded to AC3 as this is supported by the tv. I can achieve this by changing the profile to the 2015 models. Is this however the best profile to use with my tv or is it possible to provide me with the correct profile. It would also appear that when movies are transcoded the video is also transcoded with the audio even though the video will play on my tv when only the audio needs to be transcoded. CPU is at 100% when transcoding even with an i7 processor. Is it also possible to view a list of movies that have been transcoded or identify the folders that are in the transcoded folder? Another issue I have is when I right click on a movie and select properties the general tab is showing movie info, however the video , subtitles, and transcoding tabs are blank. Clicking back on the general tab is also then blank. Is this a glitch in the software or an issue that can be resolved. Any help or advise with any of these issues would be appreciated.

Hi Brian,

Some answers:

The "Panasonic Viera (2015 models, UHD)" should be the best choice for your TV model.
The video channels of your files may be transcoded by Mezzmo depending on their video codec, video bitrate, number of channels, subtitle settings, etc. Find a video that Mezzmo is transcoding that you think it does not need to. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. That will help us understand why it is transcoding the file.
Open the Properties dialog for a file in Mezzmo and resize the dialog. Close the dialog and then open it again. You should be able to see the other tabs now - e.g. Audio, Video, Transcoding, Subtitles, etc.

Hi Paul
Thank you for your reply. I will post the ffmeg info as soon as I get chance to transcode a movie. The issue I have with the tabs in the properties box is not that they are not visible, they are showing but do not have any info in any of the tabs other than the general tab. Clicking on the other tabs shows no info, they are blank. After clicking on these tabs I click back on the general tab and that then is also blank, the info that was showing is no longer showing. I have to close the properties tab and open it again for the info in the general tab to show. I have just updated to the latest version of Mezzmo but this has not resolved the issue. I also see there is a new profile for Panasonic Viera 2016 models in the new update. Should I stick with the Panasonic 2015 profile or go with the new 2016 profile?
Regards
Brian

Hi Brian,
for the issue with the blank tabs you can resize the properties dialog when it is open by clicking on the border of the dialog and drag it then close and open the dialog again and the tabs should no longer be blank.

If it helps I use a simple utility for MKV files with DTS to convert the audio to AC3. It converts the audio to a bitrate you select & then re-muxes to a new mkv file. The utility is mkvdts2ac3.exe & a google search should find a link for it.
