Hi,

I have recently bought a new Samsung television (UE32K5600) and for some reason it refuses to play MP4 files from my Mezzmo server. I have other, older, Samsung TV's in the house that do play the same MP4 files from the same Mezzmo server.

The television is hard wired to a Solwise 1200AV SmartLink PowerLine HomePlug AV2 Ethernet Adapter back to the BT Home HUB (v6) router, the other TV's in the house are connected to the BT Home Hub via WIFI.

From a Mezzmo perspective the only difference I can see is that this new TV has been identified as having a device profile of 'Generic device (NTSC)' whereas the other Samsung TV's have a device profile of 'Samsung H' or 'Samsung D'.

I have tried deleting the device from Mezzmo but it still gets added back in as a 'Generic Device (NTSC)'.

Any ideas what device profile I could use as I presume that is my issue?

Thanks
Rennie

Hi Rennie,

First step, update your Mezzmo to the latest version (v5.1.1.0) that we just released. Get the latest version from Help -> Check For Updates menu item. After upgrading, go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your Samsung K-series TV. Change the device profile to 'Samsung J' and try streaming now. It still no success, then right-click on the MP4 video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information here.

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for your advice. I have followed all your steps and I am happy to report that I can no play back MP4 files. I appear to have a new issue in that Mezzmo doesn't appear on this new TV sometimes but a hard reset of the telly brings it back to life, nothing major so can live with that.

Thanks for your help.

Regards
Rennie

That should read 'I can now play back MP4 files':)

OK - glad you are up and running now :). Regarding your TV not listing Mezzmo sometimes, try decreasing the SSDP interval in the Media Server Settings dialog. It may help. See http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=changing_ssdp_advertisement_interval.
