Hello.
I am absolutly new to Mezzmo and havent installed it yet. For now I use Emby server to share my media library with some Kodi Clients (FireTV and Nvidia Shield).

I found out that Kodi has a upnp server function. I really like upnp and would like to use it because its really easy and fast to integrate the library in the clients (once the server is is installed and everything scraped). Nevertheless Kodi as UPnP server is not ideal, e.g. it has no headless mode so must be in fullscreen all the time.

Now I was looking for another Upnp server and found Mezzmo. I read that there is already a Kodi plugin, which is great. But before I try or buy I have some questions (I already watched the FAQs).

1. Emby relies on an internet connection. When there is no internet I cannot connect to my local library (probably because Emby tries to verify its license). Does Mezzmo work without internet connection?

2. Is it possible to have different user profiles? On my Kodi clients I use a profile for adults and another one for kids. It would be nice to connect these Kodi profiles to different media content.

3. Is there a live auto library update? In Emby I could copy a movie on the NAS and some seconds later it got scraped and could be watched in my Kodi library. It seems in Mezzmo I have to manual maintime the library.

Hi,
with Mezzmo you can connect to your Mezzmo library without an Internet connection.

Mezzmo has support for content ratings where you can set the access for a device or user (in the case of web access) to only access content with a certain rating or lower. For example you can set the Kodi device to only access files with PG rating or lower then you can use a PIN in the Mezzmo Kodi Plugin to allow access to all content if you wish. See http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=parental_control&s[]=content&s[]=ratings for more information.

Mezzmo has watch folders which you can add to Mezzmo and then each time you browse the folder you get the contents from disk so if a new file is added you see it immediately. There is also a refresh interval you can set so that Mezzmo will check for new files in the folder and add them allowing you to see the file in other playlists in the library like Recently Added. See http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=adding_folders for more information.
