I put Mezzmo on a brand new PC a few weeks ago, and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure what's happened since, but now one of my Sony Blu Ray Players says "waiting for server to start" whenever I browse to the new Mezzmo server, and if I use the Android app to push to it, nothing happens. The android device appears to be playing to the Blu Ray player but the blu ray player doesn't do anything. What's extra strange is that the other blu ray player in the house reacts as expected, and the four android tablets with the Mezzmo app also react as expected. What is the usual suspect in this scenario?

Sony Bluray players cache the server list so possibly going to Network settings on the Bluray player and clearing out the list then update it might help. If the Bluray player is also not doing anything when files are pushed from the android app then it could be an issue connecting to the Mezzmo server, you could check the network settings on the Bluray to see if it's IP address is in the same subnet as the Mezzmo server. If you still have trouble after trying these steps please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try connecting to Mezzmo from the Bluray player and then send us the logs after it fails to connect.

We're off to a good start. It took a long time to figure out what menu item on the blu ray player to use, but basically I had it remove ALL servers, and refresh. When I did that, the new Mezzmo server ( called PirateChest) reappeared with the familiar Mezzmo Logo. But I'm not quite fixed yet. I can connect, browse to all of the libraries I gave this device permission to view, but they show up as empty except for the names of folders, which also show up as empty.

After this semi-successful connection I also tried pushing to the TV from my android Mezzmo app, selecting "PirateChest" as the server and the BDP-S3700 as the device, but this also produced no happy faces. I'm going to try the diagnostic thingy. Where do I send the logs?

I can see the problem, the Sony STR (2013 Models) profile is being used and this is for audio receivers so no video formats are defined. Please try going to ‘Media Devices’ and double-click the device in the list and change the device profile to the ‘Sony BDP, HT, SMP (2013 Models)’ profile then try playing the file on the device.
