So, I've been running Mezzmo for about 2012 and have made alot of changes over that time to the movies and locations in my system. For the first time, I enabled the removal of stuff from the database during maintenance and manually kicked off a maintenance.

Three weeks later it is still running. For the last week alone, it has been over 95%. It's currently at 99%, where it's been for a couple of days.

Is this expected behavior, or should it be operating alot faster? I can tell that it's running because in Task Manager the FFMpeg and the Mezzmo (as opposed to MezzmoMediaServer) processes are running up CPU percentages.

Hi,
if you have the option to update video preview thumbnails checked then this can take some time depending upon how many movies you have in your library, Mezzmo will go through each video and create a series of screenshots to be used when seeking in a video in the Web Access or the Roku app. You can uncheck this option in Maintain Library if you do not want these to be created and Maintenance should run quicker.

I don't know if I have that checked or not. I will stop this maintenance as it is still ongoing and give it a shot.

So, now after doing that, every time I try to back up the database, Mezzmo crashes.....

Can you please send the crash report generated by Mezzmo to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will investigate to see why the crash is occurring.

It looks like Mezzmo has not crashed but is not responding to Windows because it is doing a lot of work backing up the database, if you leave Mezzmo running it should complete the backup and become responsive again.

Even though it has popped up the dialog box to stop the unresponsive app?

I just ignored the unresposive app message and it worked out.

Question for you. When you run a database maintenance, and removal of the movies that are gone, and then a compare, does it remove everything, including things like the screen grabs, posters, mmetadata, and everything for the ones that have been removed? Or does it just remove it from the database?

Yes when removing movies that are gone all the metadata, posters and screen grabs are removed from the Mezzmo folders.
