Hi
As a old long time paid ex user of Mezzmo, I have returned to see how things have changed! I stopped using Mezzmo as it had no iOS support and it's DNLA page from server to dnla tv was poor compared to the likes of Plex which had wonderful interfaces etc and iOS Support, now after a long period of no use I find there is still no Apple support but plenty of Android support!.
Now here's my problem as I have a windows server and updated it to the latest Mezzmo server (Mezzmo never left just wasn't used the same).I have a new tv a Samsung KS Series and find Plex will not work on this properly but I find my new Samsung KS Series tv doesnt spot Mezzmo.
Also because apart from the windows server there is just Apple devices of which I thought there would be support for by now from mezzmo, I can pay for apps to mirror the iPad but after being an original paid Mezzmo owner I feel I should have support for my items by now it's been a very long wait!
This is not a bitchy go at Mezzmo, I am just curious why it's not caught up with others, and why I can't appear to use it on my new KS series tv.
So one way or another I need to find a work around, it's not that I didn't like Mezzmo originally it's just I needed the Apple support, I can't bitch or moan to Plex as I didn't pay for it, but I did pay for Mezzmo!
Any suggestions?

Hi,
please try using the Samsung K profile for the TV if it is listed in 'Media Devices' in Mezzmo, if it is not listed then possibly the firewall on the PC is blocking MezzmoMediaServer.exe from the network and this is why the TV does not see the server.

We still have plans to have an iOS app for Mezzmo but currently we do not have the time to develop it, Plex has lots of funding so they can afford to develop apps for many devices.

Hi Peter
Many thanks for your reply, I now have mezzmo seen by the tv but...... the movies are the same as Plex 10seconds then buffer!
Now my set up consists of cat7 around the house 50mb broadband and a server hard wired from garage to house.
I personally had no problem with mezzmo, but my wife did tbh she has technophobia I think!
My goal is to get movies working correctly I have had no problems before changing to a tizen based tv all my others still work fine.
When my tv spots mezzmo it is just folders, plain and simple, the film opens works great then the buffering starts!, goal two is making this easier to use, I tried to use kodi to intergrate mezzmo into a better interface for my wife, but Kodi hates my server it won't run so is there any app I can use to make this a better experience my mrs technophobic ?
Thanks again for a first class quick answer!

I run Kodi with the Mezzmo plugin on 6 clients ranging from Intel NUCs, Raspberry PIs, and PCs with an ultra critical wife. She is very happy and likes having a consistent menu across the devices. I subscribe to the publish once and read many times approach. Being able to share bookmarks across all of them is an added plus. I don't have any transcoding because I ensure the sources is encoded into a compatible format. M2TS is my preferred container. Others like MKV. The good thing about Kodi is that it supports almost all formats of audio / video natively so you can pretty much turn transcodfing off.

Thanks for your input Jblinkley60, my wife loves Kodi it's on our firetv but after working in I.T for twenty years I can not figure out why kodi will not run on the windows 2012 server even in a virtual container! I've tried new video drives etc if I could get that to work my wife would be happy accessing mezzmo! She can't get her head around folders even though to me it's easier! But not only will Kodi not work server side mezzmo is buffering constantly !🙄🙈 I need to find out that problem first!

Hi Frank,
I think we will need to see some logs to try and determine what the problem is, please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting your Mezzmo Media Server try streaming a file to the TV and after it starts with the buffering problem send us the logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com so we can investigate.
