I'm getting an issue trying to open mezzmo. Right after the splash screen I get a dialog saying "Failed to open destination file".
I can see mezzmo behind this dialog but as soon as I click OK off it goes again and is replaced by a dialog saying "Mezzmo has stopped working"

I found a similar issue in this thread here:
http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/9244-Mezzmo-install-not-working

However I checked, the MezzmoMediaServer.ini file in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Conceiva
and the FB filename is poining at C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezz mo\Mezzmo.db.
I also looked in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Logs to try and see if there was a clue but the folder is empty

I do have a database backup but its several months old. So 2 questions:
1. How do I fix this
2. Are there any plans to have a means to autobackup the database anytime soon !?

Further to this I managed get it running again after some fiddling and a restart. (Not 100% sure what I did to fix, I did copy an older DB over the top having stopped the mezzmo service and then did a system restart)

Still interested in knowing if there are plans to have some kind of auto-backup. If not do I simply need to backup the files that I see in the backup folder when I manually create one - in which case I could have a task scheduled in windows to do this for me.

So whilst this has allowed me to open mezzmo again it appears to have broken all of the smart playlists I spent time setting up. I can see them but they are empty and trying to edit them by right clicking and choosing properties does nothing. :(

Hi,
you can backup your Mezzmo database using the information at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=backup_restore_mezzmo_database, there is no auto backup available currently but we may add this in the future. Could you please send your Mezzmo.db file to support [at] conceiva [dot] com so we can investigate to see why choosing properties on the playlists does nothing? Add the Mezzmo.db file to a zip and email it to us or upload it to a file sharing site and send us a download link.

Just having exactly the same issue - was on 5.1.3.0, upgraded to 5.2.0.0 (which did a backup of my library, so hopefully that will be good) and still happened.

So I uninstalled (which took forever, seeming to get stuck a few times eventually freezing at "MezzmoSetService /uninstallall" so had to kill the process and restart, which then seemed to go ok) leaving library in place, rebooted, reinstalled.

Tried restoring the library, which seems to have gone ok (despite it appearing to hang during the restore process), but took a good while to sort - it would be good if this specific error had more information provided when it occurs, both to help users fault find and also to help the application being fixed to stop this happening.

Done exactly the same again - tried a repair of the installation and still the same! As it takes forever to setup the libraries, really getting to the point where I'll have to find another product to do this as I can't keep on having to fix this on my server every few months.

Sorry for the problems. We can find out what is going wrong if you turn logging on. See our wiki to turn logging on - http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging. After turning on logging, restart your Mezzmo server and Mezzmo (Windows) app. Now reproduce the error you are getting. Once reproduced, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll analyze them and provide a fix ASAP.

Note: If you are unable to run Mezzmo (Windows) app to turn logging on, then follow these manual steps to turn on logging:

Stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app if running.
Using Windows Explorer, go to the following folder: 'C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Local/Conceiva/Logs/Mezzmo' (where <user> is your Windows login name). If the folder does not exist, then create the folder.
Create a file called "Logging" in this folder. It can be empty. Note it does not have a file extension.

Now, when you run Mezzmo (Windows) app or Mezzmo media server, logging is turned on and you will see log files created in these folders.
