So I apologize ahead of time as I'm new to the forum and just working on getting my Mezzmo media server up and running. I am by no means an expert so if this is a totally newbie question and the info is easy to find elsewhere I'm happy to hunt. I loaded all of our home movies from our camera's, iphones etc.. they are organized by year and in most cases months folders on my computer. Most just have the generic name that was created by the device, but in some cases they may have been named by someone. Mezzmo seems to be going out and "finding" metadata and assigning them as titles as well as the artwork. I completely understand the need for this if I was loading DVD's but in this case they are all home videos. How do I a) stop this in the future b) fix what has already been done?

Thanks in advance!

Robert

Hi Robert,

The Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog is used to control what metadata is collected for your media files. See these wiki posts - http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=retrieving_metadata and http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=metadata_retrieval_settings.

In your case, you can deselect the "Get text and artwork metadata from internet web sites" checkbox on this dialog to stop getting artwork from the web. Once deselected, click OK and right-click on the folder or playlist in Mezzmo that contains your home movies and click 'Maintain Playlist'. On the Maintain Playlist dialog, select the "Update media properties and metadata" and "Update artwork" checkboxes and the "Update all attributes" radio button and click 'Maintain Now'. This will re-generate the artwork and text metadata for the files in the folder or playlist. They should be OK now.
