Why has the Web Acess video size default size limited to 360x360? I have attached the screenshot of a video where the maximum video size is set to 360x360. In the Web Access settings, I have set 80MBs and 1920x1080 resolution. But, whatever I set, default is 360x360, and it always is transcoding, all the files, regardless of Audio/Video format. Even if I click on the Default Size in the video screen to change, and change it to original file video size, it is transcoding again.

How can I configure Web Access properly, to serve original video size, how to avoid transcoding (what formats are supported by Web Access player)?

Regards,
Milan

Hi,
this was originally done to improve performance when streaming videos using the web access over the Internet. We have made some changes for the update we are currently working on so which should improve this so if you would like to try a beta send an email to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

I have done some experimenting, and I managed to disable 360x360 resize by modifying the WebAccess profile, and for now, it works fine (more or less). There is the problem of the transcoding still happening for most files, but for now, it is not a big problem, so I will wait for the official next release. What I would like to see is the support for more file formats in the Web Access, because right now, AC3, DTS and other audio formats are not working, always triggering transcoding.

Thanks,
Milan

The format support of the web access depends upon the formats supported by the web browser you are using, most web browsers support mp4 with h264 video and aac audio but no AC3 or DTS audio. Transcoding is required for avi, mpeg and other formats not supported by the web browser so if your library contains a lot of these formats you will get transcoding occuring for most files.
