View Full Version : High FFMPEG.exe CPU Usage

I've noticed that whenever I Start or Stop a movie via Mezzmo either via Roku or the Web, my CPU spins up to almost 100%.

When I start a movie, it pegs CPU for roughly 5 minutes, then drops to almost nothing. When I stop the movie, it pegs the CPU for maybe only 20-30 seconds. Every time, it's due to the FFMPEG.exe (via task manager).

I have "Transcoding on incompatible devices" completely disabled, even for web, since all my movies are formatted correctly (audio/video codecs) for my devices. During movie playback, I've validated that the movie is "Streaming" and NOT "Transcoding".

Is this FFMPEG.exe behavior normal during the Start and Stop actions during movie playback while only Streaming?

I'm currently running Mezzmo Pro v5.2.0.0.

Thanks.

The "FFmpeg.exe" process(es) will most likely be Mezzmo creating video preview images of the video when you seek in the video on your Roku. This should only be done the first time you play the video since the video preview thumbnails are cached by Mezzmo for future use.
