I have this "Metadata Retrieval Settings" under "Other"
this nice list of "The, A, An, De, Het, Een, Le, La, Les, L', Un, Une, Der, Des, Dem, Den, Die, Das, Ein, Eines, Einem, Einen, Eine"

To make sure a movie name like "The Mask" is put under the "M" of Mask and not "T" to avoid having 1000 movies
under the "T" of "The"

And I have this for several languages as you can see: "English, Dutch, French, German" as all my movies I order in these 4 languages.

But, I have an "active playlist" with Keyword hierarchy: "Group by first letter, Album/series" to have a nice "Collections" playlist

This works great actually, except one silly thing..

The collection names with "The" are all put under the "T" of "The"

The Amazing Spiderman Collection
The Amityville Horror Collection
The Bourne Collection
The Cabin Fever Collection
The Cell Collection
.....

The

The
The
...

any way I can also have this nice list under "Other" in the "Metadata Retrieval Section" to be applied also to the "Collection names" ?

So "The Amazing Spiderman Collection" is under the "A"
and "The Bourne Collection" is under the "B"
and "The Cell Collection" is under the "C"
?

And yes I know I can manually edit the .nfo file of course.

Problem is, when I rescrape or update that manual edit is gone of course..

Set the sort order of the playlist to Display Title Ascending and this should rebuild the playlist to put titles starting with The under the next letter. So The Amazing Spiderman will be under A.

Is there a way to get the Active Playlist to ignore "the", "an", etc. Right now, if I "Group By First Letter" for any TV Series, I still get all of the "The" TV shows stuck into the "T" Group and there's no way to change the sort title of the series itself. Mezzmo doesn't have an option of setting a Sort Title for an entire series so the only way to accomplish this is to set up an nfo or xml file and manually edit it.

Sorry I should have said to set the sort order of the playlist to Sort Title (Ascending) not Display Title. This works for Movies but does not appear to work for the titles of series, we will investigate to see if we can apply this for series when sorting by Sort Title.

Right on. Thanks.

I deleted the Active Playlist, recreated it and the titles are now showing up properly.

*********************************************

On a related note, the <Sort Title> process of eliminating A,An,The only does half the job. If I set the Active Playlist (Group by First Letter) to sort by <Sort Title> then the title will disappear from the "T" folder but it never reappears anywhere else.

For example 'The 'Burbs':

Title: The 'Burbs
Sort Title: Burbs, The

My expectation would be that it would show up between "Bunyan" and "Buried" but it doesn't. In fact, it doesn't show up anywhere. I can perform a search for it and find it, so the file is found and recognized by Mezzmo.

Any "The" titles show up properly in the "T" folder; e.g. "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" nestled properly between "Testament of Youth" and "Texas Heart" but this is limited to only the titles whose <Sort Title> starts with 'T'.

In fact, it doesn't to be limited to the A,An,The. Any files with different <Title> and <Sort Title> do not reappear under any group; e.g.

Title: '71
Sort Title: 71

Should appear under "7" but doesn't. Active Playlists seem to be not very friendly with Sort Titles.
