Silent downloads & notification, excluding certain file types

Hi

I have enabled silent downloads but would like to get a notification that the download has either started or completed. I have enabled Download Studio monitor when downloads start but it doesn't get displayed. It sometimes displays when it completes a download.

I would like to exclude certain file types from being processed by DownloadStudio (.qbo files for example). How do I do this? I can't seem to find any reference in the documentation on how to do it and there isn't an obvious option anywhere else.
