Hey there,
I'm having some trouble with trying to get any kind of subtitles to show in combination with .mkv files. I've extracted the .srt
file from the mkv container, placed it in the same folder and named the file the same as the video file.
My TV does support .srt subtitles (Panasonic TX-P42G20E) Is it possible to use .srt subs with mkv files?

Panasonic Viera TVs only support playing external subtitles with DivX (AVI) files at the moment, so you’ll need to convert your MKV to an AVI (mpeg4 video with mp3 or ac3 audio) for subtitles to work. Hopefully, Panasonic will improve their DLNA firmware to support other formats, but at the moment you are limited to DiVX files if you want external subtitles to display.
