Android app and (new) Chromecast

This is a general description of a first trial of Android Mezzmo streaming to the second-generation Chromecast. Initially Chromecast is available as streaming device. You can start playing video from Mezzmo PC server and it plays correctly on TV. Stopping the playback by Mezzmo brings a message: Chromecast failure: (a number) code: 2100. Trying to start new video playback brings a message: Chromecast failure (a number) code: 2103.

So, Chromecast is listed in Mezzmo, it can play the first video and then Mezzmo fails with Chromecast failure but with two distinct codes. In order to play the next video from Mezzmo you need to stop streaming in Chromecast and restart Mezzmo app. Looks like a problem in communication between Mezzmo and Chromecast.

Of course casting from for example Youtube works correctly.

we have made several fixes to Chromecast streaming in version 2.0 of the Mezzmo android app so if you send an email to support [at] conceiva [dot] com we can send you a link to join the Mezzmo android 2.0 beta testing to see if this resolves the problem.
