VLC used to transcode?

Hello,

would you think of implementing vlc as one of the transcoders? I have notice a few other DLNA servers using vlc. This would also help with server side subtitles, etc. As your execute line for vlc, could simply include the sub tittle function.

Thank you for the suggestion. We have considered using other encoders alongside FFmpeg (such as VLC or MEncoder), but there are no immediate plans on doing that at the moment AFAIK. We have our own in-house subtitle engine that is very powerful and that's going to be the way subtitles will be implemented, I believe.
