I would love to switch over to Raspberry Pis, running Android. The only problem is that Android for the Pi doesn't support HDR in any form, unless something changed within the last couple of months.

I had issues with MKV files in the past, so I have gotten into the habit of transcoding them into MP4 files using Handbrake to avoid said issues.
I believe that the Rocktek G2 supports VC-1, but they're not cheap.
I'm aware that it wouldn't be able to return that back to Mezzmo. The reason I pointed it out is that it is, yet another reason, why the Mezzmo Android client should be updated to support D-Pads. ...
Not the play counter. The progress bar. Like when you play a movie and exit back out, there's a bar at the bottom of the video icon showing how much of the movie has been played so you can resume...
When using an external app to play movies using Mezzmo for Android, it doesn't appear to flag the movie as viewed, like it does when you playing it through the Mezzmo internal player. I assume this...
I seem to recall making the same request in another thread. Throughout the years, people have commented about the Google devices.
The D-Pad is the way that these devices, especially the Android...
There's alot of demand. It's not just Google Chromecast affected by this. There are, literally, dozens of players that have the issue.
Just a casual glance through Google, at least a dozen of the most common AndroidTV based devices use a D-Pad rather than dedicated FF/RW buttons. Just to name a few: Mecool (all models), Homatics...
I would recommend adding support for that given that more and more devices are shipping with a D-Pad rather than dedicated FF/Rw buttons. That seems kind of short-sighted to not support more modern...

This is the nVidia Shield Pro remote. As you can see there are dedicated FF/RW buttons in addition to the D-Pad at the top

These are the Rocktek G2 and Chromecast remotes. As...
I've done MP4 and MKV. Both of which work fine for FF/RW on my nVidia Shield Pro. It's definitely not container related. I'd bet $50 that it's treating the D-Pad buttons different than an actual...
Looking at the Chromecast remote on Google Images, it does use a "D-Pad" like my Rocktech G2 does. It does not have dedicated FF/RW buttons. I'd wager that this is the exact same issue that I am...
Peter,
PLEASE look at my info about the buttons for FF/RW. You seem to have completely bypassed that and have stuck on the transcoding part, which I stated previously was resolved.
I deleted the transcoded files before I started testing my FF/RW issue.
As I stated previously. It plays without being transcoded after disabling transcoding. That the FF/RW buttons don't work now.
This is probably the same issue that I am having with my Rocktek G2. Alot of the newer devices seem to have a "D-Pad" rather than normal FF/RW buttons.
Additional Info
Other apps, such as Youtube TV, Youtube, and the like, FF and RW seem to work fine. If I let the video transcode, that seems to allow for FF; I didn't try RW.
Another thing. I...
As stated above, it's using the Conceiva Android profile, just like my nVidia Shield Pro does. FF and RW work just fine on the Shield. I'm not a fan of Kodi. It's way too clunky in the way that...
So I tried to use the VLC player app to test, since the Mezzmo Android app (which I have a paid copy of) doesn't allow FF and RW. VLC player doesn't even see my files. I go to Local Network - UPNP...
I am using the Mezzmo Android app when FF and RW do not work. I will try the VLC Player app and let you know.
Ok. So I had to manually turn off transcoding and that fixed my weird HDR issue and the * next to the file name.
Now onto the next weird issue. The fast forward and rewind do not work.
I bought a Rocktek G2 to try it out. The Mezzmo client has a * by all of the movies and doesn't play them in HDR. It uses the generic Mezzmo Android TV device profile. Do you have a device profile...
Are there plans to update it? I really like it on my Shield Pro. I have a couple of ideas for "nice to haves" for it.
Figured out what happened. Somehow the service account and changed, with no interaction from me, from the service account I was using to Local System Account. The Local System Account does not have...
