I have the same issue, I went from a stable 3.4.4.0 to 4.0.5.0 and crashes every 15-20min. Server on PC, TV is a Sony Bravia KDL model.

Try the fix for missing videos after the 3.0 upgrade here, worked for me, see if it helps you...
