A few questions about AVCHD
Does anyone know of a good program to rip dvds/blue rays to avchd? And what kind of file sizes am I looking at?
Also, my server is fairly low spec (E2200/2gb ram to a Sony Bravia). Will it be fine playing large avchd files because it doesn't need to transcode them?

As far as streaming those files goes, that hardware is enough.
