An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.8.6) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.8.6) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
fix for a minor bug introduced in the previous version and related to the
detecting Mezzo server version new feature.

    *** Important Note ***

Support for Kodi 17 and below is being phased out. Version 1.1.8.1 is the last version
which will have full Kodi 17 and below support. There are no plans to drop support
    for Kodi 18 anytime soon.

    v1.1.8.6 Kodi 18

    • Fixed minor bug introduced in v1.1.8.5 which would cause an exception error
if the Mezzmo sync server was down when the background sync process tried
    to run.

    v2.1.8.6 Kodi 19+

    • Fixed minor bug introduced in v2.1.8.5 which would cause an exception error
if the Mezzmo sync server was down when the background sync process tried
    to run.

If you have version 1.1.4.4 or 2.1.4.4 installed (or higher) and automatic updates
are enabled this update will be automatic over the next 24 hrs. Otherwise please
use the links below for manual installation.

There are separate links for the Kodi 18 and Kodi 19 versions. The Kodi 19 version is based upon the
    latest Kodi 18 v1.1.8.6 code.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.8.7) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.8.7) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
major new feature called Mezzmo Movie Trailers. This feature turns your movie
watching into a theater like experience by allowing you to select a specific
number of trailers to view prior to the main movie. It allows selecting current
year or release year trailers and will not show trailers for movies in your library
    that you have already watched.

    v1.1.8.7 Kodi 18

    • Added major feature, Mezzmo Movie Previews which will play a user defined
number of movie previews and then the main feature in order to simulate a
    theater like experience.

    v2.1.8.7 Kodi 19+

    • Added major feature, Mezzmo Movie Previews which will play a user defined
number of movie previews and then the main feature in order to simulate a
    theater like experience.

Over the past 2 weeks I have been using the new Mezzmo Movie Previews feature which will play a predetermined number of local trailers and then the main movie, just like being at the movies. My wife loves the feature and since it presents movies which we haven't seen yet by looking where the playcount is 0, we find ourselves watching a broader set of movies than before. I have noticed a few things which I plan to fix in the next releases of the Mezzmo Kodi addon and the Mezzmo Trailer Checker.

The Mezzmo Movie Previews stops showing previews and skips right to the main feature when all of the movies in your library for a given year have a playcount greater than 0. basically you've watched everything in your library for that year. In the next release of the Mezzmo Kodi addon it will try when the playcount is 0 first and then if it doesn't get back the right number of trailers it will expand to includes ones which you may have already seen.

When playing back a series of trailers thee are times when Kodi will lose sound when switching to the next trailer. This is because I have Kodi set to Optimized vs. Fixed for the audio output configuration and the frame rates between the trailers don't match and Kodi has to try and switch. What I found is that even though I request 24fps trailers from You Tube with the Mezzmo Trailer Checker, sometimes it returns other frame rates including 25, 30, 60 etc. I am updating the Mezzmo Trailer Checker to detect incorrect frame rates and if you want, the Mezzmo Trailer Checker will automatically reencode to the proper frame rate to ensure smooth playback.

I've also noticed that the audio level on many trailers is much louder than the main movies. I am adding a setting where you can tell the Mezzmo Movie Trailer to adjust the volume, when it downloads local trailers, to between 50-200% of the original volume.

I may also allow the ability to do bulk conversions / fixes of frame rates and volume on local trailers which have been downloaded (i.e. by incorrect frame rate, release year of main movie, movie number etc..) . This is a stretch goal for the next version of the Mezzmo Trailer Checker.

All of these tweaks should continue to improve the overall experience.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.8.8) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.8.8) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
minor update to the new Mezzmo Movie Previews feature and a bug fix for
generic UPnP servers which return very little information.

    v1.1.8.8 Kodi 18

    • Changed Mezzmo Movie Preview query to account for when all movies in the
requested year have a playcount of > 0. Previously the addon would not play
further previews. Now it will return the requested number of previews in the
    addon setting.

    v2.1.8.8 Kodi 19+

    • Fixed a bug with the generic UPnP browser where a UPnP server would not return
any actor / cast information causing an exception error.
    • Changed Mezzmo Movie Preview query to account for when all movies in the

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.8.9) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.8.9) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
few minor updates and a major new feature, Mezzmo Fast Sync, for Native
Mode Users. Mezzmo Fast sync allows speeding up the sync time between
Mezzmo and Kodi for new library content and bookmarks / resume point sharing
across clients. You can now adjust the replication time in the native settings
    section
    of the addon.

The comparison chart of features between GUI and Native mode has been
updated. The goal has been to achieve as close to 100% feature parity as possible.
Other Kodi sharing solutions often force you to choose or require separate addons.

which will have full Kodi 17 and below support. There are no plans to drop support
    for Kodi 18 anytime soon.

    v1.1.8.9 Kodi 18

    • Fixed minor bug which could cause the same trailer to be played multiple times a
day even when there were unplayed trailers from the same year.
    • Improved trailer tracking of main movie playcount with the background sync process.
Previously it would only update once a day or if there was a change to the trailer
filename or URL. Now it will update if there is a playcount change detected in
    associated main movie.
    • Added by title as the default sort order for Mezzmo searches
    • Added new native mode Fast Sync feature which allows setting the sync time between
Mezzmo and Kodi for new Mezzmo library content and last watched / resume points.
The setting is between 1-5 minutes to achieve near real time propagation across
all Kodi clients in native mode. GUI mode continues to be instantaneous.

*** Note version 6.0.7.14 of Mezzmo or higher is required for this feature ***

    v2.1.8.9 Kodi 19+

day even when there were unplayed trailers from the same year.
    • Improved trailer tracking of main movie playcount with the background sync process.

    v1.1.9.1 Kodi 18

    • Added support for manually adding a MediaMonkey UPnP server.

    • Fixed bug which would cause a Python exception error when a Mezzmo server was down
for a period of time and came back up.

down. The sync process will now resume automatically when the Mezzmo server comes

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.9.2) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.92) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
new addon setting option to improve viewing with Mezzmo Movie Previews.

    v1.1.9.2 Kodi 18

    • Added a new addon setting to enable refreshing the Kodi GUI after playing a Mezzmo
Movies Previews playlist. Some Kodi skins, such as Confluence, will refresh after
playing an individual movie but not a playlist. Thus the user needs to manually
refresh the GUI to see the updated playcount, bookmark and similar items. Enabling
this option allows that to happen automatically. The default is disabled.
