An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon has been posted on GitHub. This version, 1.0.6.7, contains a couple of minor fixes:

• Resolved issue where actor insertion into Kodi DB would fail if existing movie name was changed in Mezzmo.
• Fixed minor Kodi debugging log message failures with non-ASCII characters

• Supports Mezzmo 6.0.4 functionality to detect duration changes to videos, as
well as video codec changes for reripping and similar situations.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon has been posted on GitHub. This version, 1.0.6.9, contains a feature enhancement:

• Added support for Mezzmo playcounts to be copied and updated into the Kodi DB
and will set the watched flag when the playcount is greater than 0. Playcounts
will automatically update from Mezzmo when browsing playlists. The watched
flag will be displayed when browsing by actor / actress in the movie info panel.

• Added index to improve Kodi DB performance which started degrading with
version 1.0.6.2.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon has been posted on GitHub. This version, 1.0.7.1, contains the following feature enhancements:

• Added detection for Mezzmo metadata changes including tagline, rating, genre,
description, writer and more. Mezzmo metadata changes now sync to Kodi DB and
updates all Kodi DB data for a given movie when a Mezzmo change is detected.
• Added detection for audio codec changes
• Added user setting to disable Mezzmo change detection to speed up playlist
loading on slower devices or if you have a Mezzmo database that doesn't change
metadata very often. On slow devices you can enable change detection, sync
the latest Mezzmo changes to the Kodi DB and then disable change detection.
Default is enabled since most devices aren't impacted by the slight overhead.
When change detection is disabled new Mezzmo additions still sync to the Kodi DB
as long as Kodi DB actor information copy is enabled.

In addition support for Kodi 19 development is underway with a beta likely being available within a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in testing please let me know.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon has been posted on GitHub. This version, 1.0.7.2, contains the following feature enhancement:

• Detects file name / container changes for existing Mezzmo video items. This
can help when you might rerip a video file to another format but keep the Mezzmo
name the same.

This feature can be helpful if you are converting / standardizing your Mezzmo library into a common video format.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon has been posted on GitHub. This version, 1.0.7.3, contains the following feature enhancements:

• Detects file name extension changes associated with container changes. Useful
when converting between file types but codecs and duration do not change.
• Adds Kodi logfile message when a changed file is detected to help with
tracking down database issues and duplicate files.

This detect feature can be helpful if you are converting / standardizing your Mezzmo library into a common video format.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.1.9.1) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.1.91) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain a
couple of enhancements to handle a downed server situation and some new
feature requests for trailers and non-Mezzmo UPnP servers.

*** Important Note ***

Support for Kodi 17 and below is being phased out. Version 1.1.8.1 is the last version
which will have full Kodi 17 and below support. There are no plans to drop support
for Kodi 18 anytime soon.


v1.1.9.1 Kodi 18

• Added support for manually adding a MediaMonkey UPnP server.
• Added support for parsing MediaMonkey XML track information tag.
• Improved displaying movie trailer information to indicate source (i.e. Local IMDB,
Local YouTube etc..) and choose trailer information colors by type.
• Added support by track sort order for music files
• Fixed bug which would cause a Python exception error when a Mezzmo server was down
for a period of time and came back up.
• Changed from an Ok dialog box to a notification message when a Mezzmo server is
down. The sync process will now resume automatically when the Mezzmo server comes
back online vs. requiring the user to click Ok.
• Added dynamic music playlist option to automatically create a playlist and add a
context menu item while browsing music on generic UPnP servers.

v2.1.9.1 Kodi 19+

are enabled this update will be automatic over the next 24 hrs. Otherwise please

latest Kodi 18 v1.1.9.1 code.

In order to begin setting up the 2024 development schedule, three new Mezzmo Kodi addon features proposals have been added to the Wiki.

The new feature proposals are: Kodi Movie Versions Integration, Automatic Playcount Reset and Local Trailer Volume Adjust.

Please review these new feature proposals, provide feedback and feel free to suggest others.

An updated version of the Mezzmo Kodi addon for both Kodi v18 (v1.2.0.5) and
Kodi v19+ (v2.2.0.5) have been posted on GitHub. These versions contain
a bug fix and a new feature which allows displaying folder and playlist fanart / backdrops
from Mezzmo. Note that not all Kodi skins support this and some provide their
own.


*** Important Notes***

Please note, as mentioned previously, there will begin to be differences in features
between the Kodi 18 and Kodi 19+ versions of the Mezzmo Kodi Addon. Feature
differences will continue to grow and the Kodi 18 version of the addon will soon
become bug fix only updates through the end of 2024.


v1.2.0.5 Kodi 18

• Added new setting to select folder / playlist backdrop source or None. Previously
only the generic addon backdrop was used. Now the Mezzmo playlist / folder backdrops
can be selected for display. The default setting is Mezzmo. Addon was the previous
default behavior with prior versions of the addon.


v2.2.0.5 Kodi 19+

• Fixed minor bug where improperly and formatted actor list entry from Mezzmo or UPnP
server could cause an exception error with Kodi 20 and higher. The performance stats
would not display for the playlist. This was due to a zero length actor entry.
These entries will be ignored now but a message will be added to the Mezzmo addon
logging facility to indicate an issue.

Feedback and feature requests are always welcome. I would like to understand how many of you use
the addon to play music from Mezzmo ? Also I am interested in whether folks would like the option to
sync live channels to Kodi in native mode. They would have to be added as a movie entry in the Kodi
database since live streams don't have a their own Kodi database. For now they are available in GUI
mode within the Mezzmo Kodi addon where you can vie them right from the Mezzmo server.
