    Question Smart playlists showing -1 items

    I set up smart playlists for specific actors (as all actors is way too many), and had everything working fine for months. As of about a month ago all of these custom smart playlists started showing empty folders and -1 items. I'm not sure what may have changed.

    They are very simple setups. Here's an example of the properties used:

    Match all of the following rules.

    Artist/Actors contains Adam Sandler.

    Restrict to video files.

    Sort by title (ascending).

    No limit set.


    Why am I suddenly seeing -1 items and empty folders? Default smart playlists work fine, e.g. Recently Added.

    This could be caused by database corruption. Please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting Mezzmo try browsing the playlist then check in the log to see if there is a database error reported (look for DBE >)

    Hi Peter,

    Yep. Quite a few DBE's in the Mezzmo folder. Around 30 or so just viewing one actor's playlist with logging turned on.

    Is there a way to repair the database?

    You can try going to Maintenance Tools and perform a compact to see if this helps but this may fail because of the errors http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...enance_tools&s[]=compact. The best approach is to load a backup of the database if you have one as it is not clear if the database damage is limited to just this table or other tables.
