Default Who Is Watching My Server?

I have given a few relations (currently fewer than 10) the address and instructions on how to access my media on Mezzmo via the web. The movies are on a very conventional PC running Windows 7.

(I also have a second machine which is on Windows 10, and on which I have a backup Mezzmo system).

I'm curious to find how many of my relations are watching the system, and to understand their watching habits, for the following purposes - 1. Understand when I can switch the PC of without interfering with people, and 2. So that I can watch the resource-load on the PC, which may influence my decision if I am considering upgrading it.

Could anyone please advise on suitable software which would allow me to watch, and possibly accumulate the data? (Timings, load on resources etc.)

The best solution I know of is placing a copy of Nginx (a reverse web proxy) in front of your Mezzmo server. That will give you tons of control, visibility and logs. It will also provide a layer of protection from the bad guys who will find your server. I am pretty sure that there is still an Open Source free version of Nginx available, even after F5 bought them.

There are also tools available for nginx to allow you to monitor when traffic is passing through your server.
