If you go to the properties of each episode in Mezzmo and look at the subtitles tab does each episode have a subtitle listed? Also what make and model is the TV and if the TV supports Android are you using the Mezzmo android app?

Yes they are listed. I'm not using Mezzmo android app, but the native DLNA option of my TV, which is a Toshiba 55U2963DG.
My only workaround so far is: after watching an episode, i'll go to Mezzmo library and delete it. Then the next one will be the one that gets subtitles. It's weird, but per playlist there can only be one external subtitle shown to the TV.
It may be an issue with the TV as Mezzmo will list subtitles for each episode. To confirm this please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try browsing to the folder containing the episodes on the TV and play the second episode then send the logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com

Thanks for the answers Peter. If it's the TV, is there anything i can try out or i'll be forever limited to this issue?
If it is the TV then there may be ways to work around it like putting each episode in it's own folder.

You could try using the TV Series playlist from the Mezzmo default playlists under Video and edit the properties of the playlist to add Group by first word. This will take the first word of the episode title and put it into a new playlist by itself (if no other episodes have this word). This could get the episodes out of order though if the words are sorted alphabetically.
