    How do i add keywords to avi and mpeg files so that a can use playlists???

    What keywords do you want to search on?

    You can use Smart Playlists and have a rule like Title contains xyz

    i understand but how does it know. For example toy story how does it know the genre? I would like it to fall under cartoon and children. What does the smart plylist look at when it looks at a file to know what genre it falls under??

    It uses the files metadata - it can either get the metadata during the libruary maintenance or you can right-click on the file in mezzmo, select properties, and amend.... if your manual amending make sure you select the "Only update where infomation is missing for media in your library"

    No, not from comments. Comments are usually unique to a file - do you have comments that are same in various files?
