Default Mezzmo Android and PC suggestions

Just some suggestions I hope you can implement if possible

    Android (and Android TV)
    1. With the built in mezzmo media player add support for left and right arrows on the remote to rewind/skip 5/10 seconds (without bringing up the seek bar) , most media players support this and it's really the only reason I have to use a 3rd party player.
    2. On the Android TV interface would it be possible to have a option force vertical scrolling vs horizontal

    PC
    1. there is no way to sort/find what items are locked (no customizable coloume for this) , so I have to go through each item to find what ones I locked from editing, which takes forever and often will crash mezzmo if I edit too many at once.

The PC item can be solved by creating a Smart Playlist and selecting the Lock attribute is Enabled. This will give you a listing of all items with a lock. You can further subdivide by adding other smart playlist attributes like file path etc...

I've also requested that the Mezzmo for Android interface be changed to follow standard UI conventions. The up-down-left-right scrolling for the files directly contravenes good UI design. It should be right-left-up-down. Their Roku app follows that format. I'm not sure why their Android app doesn't. That's my single-biggest beef with the Android app.

I do like the idea of using the remote buttons "natively" as well.

We will look into performing the seek without bringing up the seek bar.
Horizontal vs vertical scrolling is a bit more problematic because with the current design of the interface there are no controls on the left like in the Roku app so when scrolling vertically in a long list it would require to scroll to the top of the list again to get to the controls at the top. One of the reasons we have the controls at the top in Android is to unify the interface across android devices so that the only difference on a TV is that the scrolling is horizontal.

We did some testing with the seek bar hidden when pressing the fast forward and rewind buttons and nothing happened when pressing the buttons because the action when pressing the buttons is to update the position of the seek bar so that you can hold down the fast forward or rewind buttons to seek further or just press it once to skip a little.

my remote doesn't have fast forward or rewind just some sort of dpad thing (I assume they map similar to arrow keys)
    https://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content...1-1280x720.jpg

I also have a dynalink tv box (which I actually like better then the chomecast, but similar remote design)
    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dynalink-...t-in/981542272

both have similar remotes, just a dpad thing to control media.

on the mezzmo video player pressing up/down on the dpad controls the volume in the player (which is fine), left/right doesn't do anything with seekbar hidden, with seek bar showing left / right selects buttons (stop , next / prev ..etc), up goes to seek bar then you can seek but its like a 3 step process (middle dpad to show seek bar, up to select seekbar, left/right to rewind / fast-forward...
another problem is it skips 4 minutes on each press.

I do also have a few air mouse(s) with the dedicated buttons like fast forward / rewind button and they do like you say skips a few seconds or a lot if you hold it down, but it still requires binging up the seek bar. which would be fine if it brought it up it automatically (like the play / pause button does), except it doesn't it requires you to press another button like the ok button or playpause first to show the seekbar then you can use the ff / rw buttons

On the Fire TV the remote has dedicated fast forward and rewind buttons and when these are pressed the seek bar is shown and the seek action applied. The actions of these buttons map to the https://developer.android.com/refere...A_FAST_FORWARD and https://developer.android.com/refere...E_MEDIA_REWIND. Possibly the air mouse fast forward and rewind buttons are sending just the left and right actions which require the seekbar to already be displayed.
