Thread: Can Mezzmo server be accessed by client on LAN if server is running a VPN?

Default Can Mezzmo server be accessed by client on LAN if server is running a VPN?

Can Mezzmo server be accessed by a client on the same LAN if the server is connecting to the internet through a VPN?

(Or does the VPN block/interfere with traffic on the local network?)

    Thanks.

The VPN client may have trouble receiving the multicast packets from the Mezzmo server. If the multicast packets can be transmitted to the client on the VPN there should be no problem.

What might help this is if you could update Mezzmo, the server, to recognize a specific NIC (as opposed to the VPN virtual NIC) by settings. Then you could select either the NIC or the virtual VPN NIC for Mezzmo to listen on.

In the 'Media Server Settings' you can select which network adapter you want Mezzmo to listen on. Using this you can de-select the VPN NIC so that Mezzmo only listens on the LAN NIC.
