Default Opening Music folders is slow

    Hi all.

I finally got around to ripping my entire CD collection. I used Jaikoz to get metadata, and it saves each artist with its own folder (with albums as subfolders).
After Mezzmo scanned the added folders, it shows over 4000 items in Music. It takes at least 15 minutes to open the Music part of the library, presumably because of all those folders.

    I found this thread:

Is it because these are all folders on disk, rather than playlists? Any tips for making things faster?
I am fine to create lots of playlists, but I do want to go through and browse, check album art, etc, and this is extremely slow.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Is this when browsing from a device or from within the Mezzmo application? If it is from a device can you please let us know the make and model of the device and the device profile used?

It is when browsing from the Mezzmo application. I have an Intel NUC (i7 Intel Core - 32GB RAM).
More info: Immediately after Mezzmo starts, it is at the "top" Library level. If I click on the word Music (next level under Library, it takes about 5-10 seconds to show the icon for the root of the Music drive.
Under the icon, Mezzmo indicates it is a Folder, with 5000 items. When I double click on the icon to open the root, and show all the Artist folders, it takes 15-20 minutes. After this time, the Artist folders and artwork appear and can be browsed.

I checked the Android TV app (on nVidia Shield) downstairs, and this only takes 10 seconds - it is correctly listed as Android. So, strangely, it is the Intel NUC that is slow. The NUC is listed as Mezzmo (Windows) in the devices list.

If you added the folder to Mezzmo and the music files are not in the library yet then Mezzmo will add them to the library as it browses from the Mezzmo application and this could be the cause of the slow opening of the folder in the Mezzmo application. When browsing from a device Mezzmo does try to add new files but times out after a short time and returns the files that are found.
