Thread: Missing artwork after moving folder

Default Missing artwork after moving folder

I moved the location of my "Music" folder and now all of the artwork is missing. I followed the instructions for moving the path using the maintain library "tools" function and it successfully changed the path. The folders and files do appear but the artwork I had originally applied to each folder is now missing. It just shows a blank yellow folder.

The manually added artwork for each folder references the path to the folder so when the folder path changes the artwork needs to be manually set again. The maintain library tools do not update the table in the database that holds this information. If you are familiar with sql you can use an sqlite editor to modify the path in the db.

Wouldn't it make more sense to use relative paths rather than absolute paths to avoid this problem? For instance, you already enter the path of your database, so have the artwork as a relative path off of that.

It is the path to the folder that is used to identify the artwork for it. So if you have a folder e:\mymusic\90s and you set a custom image for the 90s folder then you change the location of mymusic to f:\ drive f:\mymusic\90s will not have a poster set because in the database there is a poster for e:\mymusic\90s

But the problem with this is that you lose your artwork if you need to relocate your database for whatever reason.

I have a sqlite editor. What file do I update? And what table am I looking for to edit?

The Mezzmo.db file is the database file. You will need to edit MGOPoster and change the path to match where the poster images are stored now.

I have now manually re-added all of my artwork for the poster picture and backdrop pictures in the playlist folders. What file do I need to back up in able to restore all of the artwork, in case of a disk crash? i.e. if I save file "x" then when my disk crashes all I have to do is copy back file "x"

You can create a backup from Options in Mezzmo http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...ezzmo_database. This will backup your posters and backdrops as well as the metadata. If your disk crashes you can restore the backup to the same location and you will have all your posters, backdrops and metadata.
