Thumbs down Media Server 2.1.11.21 with the new Sony Bravia KDL profile

    Hi there,

Thanks for letting me try the new Sony Bravia KDL profile with the server patch to 2.1.11.21.

This solved the aspect ratio problem for most video files apart from two mvks, both have an aspect ratio of 720x576.

Let me know if you want any further information.

    regards
    Simon

Can you please send one of those files to us here so that we could test? Video stream information looks a bit strange, so I suspect that's the reason why the TV cannot display them properly. If you could upload one of them to www.megaupload.com (for example), we'd have a better idea of what's happening.

    Default Server 2.1.12.0 update

I've updated the software to 2.1.12.0 and retested these two mvks.

Unfortunately they still have the wrong aspect ratio. I applied correction at the TV (Smart, 4:3, wide, Zoom and 14:9) but could not get the correct ratio for the picture.

Wide was the nearest but was stretched vertically - I can provide photos if required.

They play ok using VLC on the PC.

If you require more info let me know.

We'll need to do more testing on those files here, but they looked nearly perfect in Wide here (although we only have a 32" TV, so the problem may be more evident on a bigger screen). Playing them on other devices or the PC, they do work fine - it's the problem of the TV's firmware not being able to process the aspect ratio stored in the files. We'll keep working on this, so just send an e-mail to support so that it sits in a queue and you'll get an updated device profile once it's ready.
