    Mezzmo actors found: 81196
    Mezzmo actors deleted: 6
    Mezzmo Poster files found: 7493

Mezzmo UserPoster files without actor: 17

Also, after running the aforementioned processes, I did not see any spurious references while the process 'mezzmo_actor.py images' was running.

Thank you so much for your assistance, it has been most helpful!

    David.

Glad I could assist. This conversation has given me a couple of ideas to for enhancements to the Mezzmo Artwork Checker, certainly making the sync process more obvious and maybe identifying orphaned records in Mezzmo (i.e. actors still exist pointing to movies which have been deleted etc...).

    I'll give it some thought.

Any additional features I am sure would be welcomed, not only by me!

As a side note, are you aware of any other sites that have actor images that MIGHT have some of the other images I am missing? I have been going through the actor_no_match.csv one line at a time and googling them, I have picked up a few, but there has been no particular website that has given more than a few hits. It is particularly hard to find TV actors in minor roles who have available promos or 'glossies' in portrait format!

Part of the reason for the checker is that actor artwork is always being updated on the Internet and this allows an easy way to fetch new artwork and check it out, prior to using the images. I find the IMDB website has more images than TMDB but often of lesser quality. I paid for a 1 year IMDB API key which allows me 5,000 queries a day.

Doing quick match on my results I have about 15k out of 75k actor with no images or about 20% with no artwork. One other thing with the UserPoster and Artwork Checker utility is that you have the ability to share your UserPoster folders with images with others. I can't comment on any potential copyright concerns with this.

There is one other option that Peter added to Mezzmo but I don't believe it is advertised, which will tell Mezzmo to try Goggle if an actor images isn't found on TMDB.

He added a flag for the MezzmoMediaServer.ini file which you can add under the [DB] section to turn the Google image fallback on, it is off by
    default:

    UseGoogleImagesFallback=1

This enables the feature. I'd use at your own risk and you'll want to keep a close eye on your poster folder if you use it. I believe you need to run maintenance with the update metadata option. Peter can comment more if there are questions.

I'll have something more on the Artwork Checker in the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I have a strange one, I wonder if anyone can help me...

I added an actor photo, following the format procedure "donald-o-connor.jpg" replacing the apostrophe with a dash as suggested elsewhere.

On the server screen the image now appears in the films the actor is credited in but...

On my Samsung Tv's running Mezzmo for Samsung, this particular actor's image does not display, On web connections the actors are not displayed at all, and trying to run Mezzmo for Android on my Fire tablets, they cannot even connect to the server!

    Any suggestions?
