Do any previously pretranscoded files for video file being tested also need to be deleted ? I seem to recall that if a video has already been pretranscoded (full or partial) that it may be preferred even if transcoding for the device is later disabled. It might be certain circumstances but I seem to recall something like this.

Previous pre-transcoded files should not need to be deleted, it is only in rare cases where the pre-transcoded files are partially completed (if transcoding fails or does not complete the transcoded files are deleted).

As stated above, it's using the Conceiva Android profile, just like my nVidia Shield Pro does. FF and RW work just fine on the Shield. I'm not a fan of Kodi. It's way too clunky in the way that the screens work.

I understand completely about the Kodi interface. There are things to like and things to dislike about it. You hit upon one of my major issues with regards to Android, the minimalist remote control. I hadn't considered the issue being remote control / button related. It will be interesting to see where this ends up.

As I stated previously. It plays without being transcoded after disabling transcoding. That the FF/RW buttons don't work now.

I deleted the transcoded files before I started testing my FF/RW issue.

PLEASE look at my info about the buttons for FF/RW. You seem to have completely bypassed that and have stuck on the transcoding part, which I stated previously was resolved.

The issue could be related to the source format of the file. What container are you using (i.e. MKV, MP4, M2TS etc..) and have you tried different ones to see if the issue is specific to a particular format ? You might want to check what container format that transcoding was using and see if you have some files already in that format and whether FF/RW works with them with transcoding disabled. That would confirm whether this is related to a specific container format.

I've done MP4 and MKV. Both of which work fine for FF/RW on my nVidia Shield Pro. It's definitely not container related. I'd bet $50 that it's treating the D-Pad buttons different than an actual FF and RW button, especially given that the button codes are different and other devices, such has the Google Chromecast, have the same issue and also have a D-Pad vs FF/RW buttons. They, literally, provide different button codes to the apps.

Edited to add: I am going to see if it lets me pair my nVidia Shield remote with the Rocktek and my Rockteck remote to the Shield and see if the problem follows the remote. That will 100% confirm the issue.

This is the nVidia Shield Pro remote. As you can see there are dedicated FF/RW buttons in addition to the D-Pad at the top

These are the Rocktek G2 and Chromecast remotes. As you can see, there are no dedicated FF/RW buttons. They rely on the D-Pad for FF/RW functionality.

The D pad left and right buttons do not perform fast forward and rewind. If there are no dedicated fast forward and rewind buttons then there is no support for fast forward and rewind. You can seek using the seek bar by pressing the dpad then use the left and right buttons to move the seek bar. Other video players may have on screen fast forward and rewind buttons so you can try turning off the setting to use the internal video player in the Mezzm apps settings then try using MX Player or VLC as the video player when launching a video from within the Mezzmo app.
