Default Android App - long gaps between songs

I have a Samsung S10e running Android 12 with Mezzmo App 2.2.3. Lately I experience 1 to 2 minute gaps between mp3 files when using the phone as a remote control to play a playlist from Mezzmo Windows. The same playlist plays without any delays or gaps if played directly from Mezzmo Windows to the same stereo receiver.

I also have a tablet running Android 10 with Mezzmo App 2.2.3. I have the same experience using that device as a remote control.

Are there any suggestions or settings that will fix this?

    Best,
    Bob

We had to change the wake up timer to a less accurate implementation because Android no longer allows non-calendar apps to use this. You can select to keep device awake from the settings in Mezzmo to prevent the gaps between songs.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

We have put the exact timer in which you can test from https://play.google.com/apps/testing...iva.mezzmo.pro

Thanks Peter. The new v. 2.2.4 is an improvement, but we want the delay shorter if possible. I speculate using the Android App has a built-in delay because the PC needs to tell the app a song is over, the app needs to tell the PC to advance to the next song and then the PC needs to download the mp3 file to the receiver.

BTW and FYI, the keep device awake option doesn't work on my Samsung S10e. I think it's unique to Samsung phones. Enabling developer options and selecting "Stay Awake," which keeps the screen on while charging, accomplishes the same thing if the phone is charging. I've tried 3rd party apps that claim to keep the device awake, but none work. Also, the "view logs" option in the app brings up the "Media" home screen or crashes the app, but does not display any logs.
