Default Organizing Files on Other Servers

I have been using windows media streaming built into Windows 7 for providing access to my recorded TV content. Is there a way I an share through Mezzmo my recorded TV but set it up so I do not have to add the individual files when there are new recordings?

Mezzmo will automatically pick up new files created in the folders you tell it to watch.

Sorry, I was not clear. Today when I play recorded TV that I recorded through Windows Media Center, I use the Windows Media Streaming feature that you can enable in Windows 7/Media Player. This is a DLNA server built into Windows 7 and so far it is the ONLY server capable of streaming WTV and DVR-MS files which are recorded uwing Windows Media Center. To try to access these files through Mezzmo, I tried two options. First I just added a folder which points to the Recorded TV folder windows saves all files in. I then fired up my Samsung BD-C6500 and when it tries to play the WTV files in this folder, it gives an unsupported file type message.

Does anyone know when Mezzmo will support WTV files natively?

So next I browsed the Windows DLNA server through the Mezzmo network tab and added all of my recorded files to a new playlist. So the this may be a workable solution until Mezzmo has support for WTV files but so far it looks like I have to add each file to the playlist going this route. There is no option to just add the folder from the network tab. The media center is always recording new content and delting older content so it will need to manually update the playlist daily.

If there is not going to be WTV support soon, can anyone recommend tools for converting the WTV files and keeping the names and other content information in the files?

Also, should I be able to FF/Skip when playing VOB files on my Samsung BD-C6500 player? I currently get "Not Available" and I have been able to FF/Skip when using tiversity with other players in the past.

We are planning to have .WTV support in the future, but we do not have a firm date as yet. In the meantime, you can right-click on your .WTV files in WMC and make a .dvr-ms copy. This file type will work fine with Mezzmo.

Please note that there’s no FF/REW on the Samsung devices when using DLNA (it is not supported in Samsung's firmware) – you need to use the left/right buttons to skip. Is skipping not working? If that’s the case, most probably the file is being transcoded – and skipping should work after the file has finished transcoding.

Supports dvr-ms? That's great! I had not even tried that since I could not find it on the list of supported formats? So I tried it and it does work. Also, Chapter Skip does work when playing VOB using the left right arrow buttons which his also great.

When playing dvr-ms, the FF/Skip did not work. If I was to convert the dvr-ms files to another format to get the FF/Skip working (other than VOB), do you have any recommend formats to try first?

    Thanks for your help!

Now I just need to get my 3 ZyXEL boxes working in my other rooms and I will be all set. I have already created the debug log and sent it to support.

MKV files support skipping, so you could try converting to that format if you wish.
