Default What profile is used for Samsung C?

    Hi,

I have a Samsung LE40C650 and in Mezzmo i have configured the Samsung C profile. When playing a mkv file from an external HD direct on the TV it works perfect. When playing a mkv with mezzmo on the tv without transcoding, it says "format not supported". With transcoding it does work, but full HD takes a long time to transcode.

So I wanted to check the prf file for the Samsung C, but only found the .prf file for Samsung A, B, BDP. What profile is used for the C series?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yuri

    Hi Yuri,

Some files will not play via DLNA because of how they were encoded (playing them from a USB is different). The first thing to check is if that file plays using PCSM - if it doesn't, then it needs transcoding. If it does play using PCSM, but doesn't using Mezzmo, then please post FFmpeg information on that file and we'll investigate.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

Is it necessary to see what PCSM does with the file? Surely the definitive answer is to turn off transcoding in Mezzmo and see if the file can be played by the TV when delivered via DLNA. If it can't then there is your answer - it needs transcoding. I don't see what trying it via PCSM would give you. Am I missing something?

Yes, PCSM sometimes adds some additional information, that's not standard or even correct, to basically fool the TV into playing files. This was especially true on the older series, it's a bit less on the new series and the BDP.
