Default Denon 3311 - library available but not playable

    Hi,

I have been trying Mezzmo out and it is almost working !

I have reached the point where the Mezzmo player and the media library is seen, i can navigate and select files but when i try to play any of them, i get a screen image (album art, video image) but the file doesn't play.

This is happening for all video and music types.

I have tried different generic profiles as there isn't one for the Denon 3311 but nothing seems to change.

All network, computer, firewall settings seem to be correct, so any help would be gratefully received !

    cheers

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

Do you know what formats it plays? Eventhough the Denon's site says it's DLNA certified, I couldn't find a DLNA certificate for it - strange...

Try also the Yamaha RX, Pioneer SC and Onkyo TX device profiles and see if either works. Basically if we can find a device profile that works even partially, we can then create a new one for Denon based on that.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

    Dennis,

thanks i will try tonight. re formats, not sure. i am more interested in streaming music but was trying all file types to try it out. I am not even sure it will stream video but i know it should stream music and photos.

I did some more digging and found conflicting statements re the 3311's capabilities. It is DLNA certified but this certification may only be for audio and photos, not for video. Not sure whether that means it is not video capable at all...

    Dennis,

The Onkyo profile worked well, streamed music straight away so thanks.

One a side note, i am aslo trying out my SOny BDP-S370 DVD player's capabilities and it worked straight off the bat using the BDP profile set. If we could ff/rw MKV files, it would be perfect !

    thanks

Great news - glad it's working!

MKVs need to be transcoded, so cannot be FF/RWed until transcoding finishes, unfortunately.
