Thread: Sync playback across different devices

  1. #1

Default Sync playback across different devices

Had some friends round the other night, some loitering in the kitchen and some in the lounge.

Would be a nice feature to be able to sync the music playback between the TVs in the two roooms.

I assume this isn't something that can currently be done?

No, it's up to the device to request files, so unless both devices request the file at the exact same moment, then they won't be synched. Perhaps once "play to" is implemented, you could push the music to both devices at the same time.

We will be able to do this in later versions of Mezzmo when we implement the play to function that is in Windows 7. Thanks for the suggestion.

On my system I have (5) zones all connected via Cat 5E. My main system with my Samsung BluRay and Mezzmo running have rca outputs run via Cat5E cable to a punch donw block and then Cat5E distributed throughout my home, to the various zones, to RCA CD inputs. Each has it's own amplifier to control vloume, etc. At this point I have over (26) speakers, of which simply using Mezzmo to play my collection running resident on my computer. All rooms are in perfect lock step and the music flows throughout yard included! This would the only way I would really know to run in lock step. I had the same need you would like, to run music throughout my home all in perfect unison with no music dead zones for parties and the like!
