Default Wireless + WD TV Live - Keep having to restart Mezzmo service

    Hello,

So there appears to be an issue when using a WD TV Live over a wireless network. Most of the time, things work fine. However, the problem occurs when I turn off the WD TV Live (even if it's for just a few minutes) and leave my PC on. The next time I turn on the WD, it can't find the Mezzmo server. I run a network connection check on the WD side and all is well. Mezzmo still has my WD Live in its list. If I restart the Mezzmo service, then all works normally again.

I have a Belkin F5D8233-4v3 router and use a Belkin F5D8053v3 USB wireless transceiver that's hooked up to the WD TV Live. I've tried both static and dynamic IP configurations, but both have the same issue. When I hook the WD Live up via a wired connection directly to the router, this issue doesn't occur.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Visor

Thanks for looking into this, Dennis.

I do have an update... it turns out my WD TV Live will eventually find Mezzmo... after anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Still annoying, as it should take under 10 seconds, even with a wireless connection (especially when it's using a static IP).

I look forward to hearing about your findings.

    Thanks,
    Visor

    Hi Dennis,

Have you been able to test & find issues with this setup? My WD TV Live is completely random when it comes to finding Mezzmo... sometimes it's under 10 seconds, sometimes it's 5 minutes.

    Thanks,
    Visor

Can WD TV Live play more MKV videos with 5 audio channels and you can hear the audio?

I bought a Western Digital WD Elements Play WDBACC0010HBK-EESN Media Player which was could only play DTS 2 (2 channels of audio)
-- when I played a MKV video with 5 audio channels I could see the movie with no sound

I returned my Western Digital WD Elements Play Media Player

I believe it's the same issue as random stopping of playback and we have reproduced that here and are looking into it. Also, the next update of Mezzmo will have some improvements in the device discovery as well, so it may also help.

Not sure about the player you've mentioned, but WD TV Live HD plays 5.1 AC3 in MKVs just fine.

Can you please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then try to get this disconnect to happen and once Mezzmo is not detected by the WD TV, please stop the server and send the logs to support.
