Thread: Really odd behaviour with Linked Playlists....

Default Really odd behaviour with Linked Playlists....

I've exported a number of my iTunes playlist into M3U format, which I'm then adding to Mezzmo as linked playlists.

What happens is this: the tracks are intially added. However, they only appear in the Mezzmo for a few seconds, almost immediately the tracks are then deleted. All that remains is a playlist with empty rows where the tracks were (see picture below, which orginally contained 8 tracks).

    Can anyone please advise?

    Thanks

Very strange... Can you please send one of those playlists to support (at) conceiva (dot) com so that we could investigate this? As an initial guess, I'd say that the files in that playlist are not recognized by Mezzmo properly, so if you could include one of those tracks in your e-mail as well it'll help us understand the problem better.

I think your problem is related to how iTunes produces m3u playlists. At first, I could not get an exported iTunes m3u playlist to link into Mezzmo. The playlist would link without a problem, but no songs would be listed. I noticed that a playlist generated by WinMediaPlayer did link and list the songs. The exported iTunes playlist had the normal m3u header followed by the songs listed with their specific path:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\The Doors\The Doors\02 Riders On The Storm.mp3"
However, the successful playlist had a relative path:
    "..\iTunes\iTunes Music\The Doors\The Doors\02 Riders On The Storm.mp3"
(My playlist is in a folder at the same level as the iTunes folder)

Once I revised other playlists to the relative path, they all worked. Note that I don't have my documents folder in the traditional location but in all users. Likewise, here all the songs were already in my Mezzmo library.

I reported this previously in http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...=5205#post5205

    Just upgraded to 2.2.

Still experiencing the same problem with linked playlists, for both WPL and M3U formats.

Can any Conceiva staff please advise?

    Thanks
