Thread: Subtitles refuse to work for both my LG 42LD550 TV and WD TV Live

  1. #1

Default Subtitles refuse to work for both my LG 42LD550 TV and WD TV Live

Anyone else having issues with subtitles not working? Both the TV and my WDTV Live show no subtitles available. However:

    - The subtitle file is in the same folder as the movie
    - The movie plays fine
    - The name of the subtitle is exactly the name of the movie
    - The subtitle file has a ".srt" extension.

I ended up having to resort to just sharing the folder out and mounting it over the network with the WDTV. Doing it that way has the subtitle show up just fine and work properly in the WDTV.

    Am I missing something?

The WD TV Live does not support external subtitles over DLNA (only built-in ones, such as a subtitle stream in some container). We're working on getting the LG TV to support external subtitles and if you'd like to try a patch for that, please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com.
