Thread: Mezzmo was 30% cpu now it's 100% and playback suffers?

  1. #1

Default Mezzmo was 30% cpu now it's 100% and playback suffers?

Well, I had it all working just fine bout a month ago, went on a long vacation, and now it seems mezzmo is 99% cpu usage on any transcode thus the playback at the sam c550 is horrid. Nothing has changed, except adding more movies to the server? I guess I'm at a loss.

    server:
    i3 540
    tons of ram
    7200 rpm drives
    gig connection
    lossless .mkv containers using MakeMKV

    tv:
    samsung c550
gig connection (100 based port on tv though)

    network:
    cat6 throughout
everything hooked directly to gig switch
asus nt16 with dd-wrt as the router

    Any ideas?

Did you update Mezzmo after coming back? Also, please check that the device profile is still set correctly in Media Devices dialog.

Can you please post FFmpeg information on one of those files (in Mezzmo right-click on the file and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command). I'm sure we'll work it out.

Can you please reset the Advanced tab back to defaults - those are not meant to be changed, unless there's a specific reason to do so. Turning off "deliver partially supported" files means that files will never be remuxed and will always go through the full transcoding - that's why you're getting such high CPU usage.

With the file above, does it play if you turn transcoding off?

Ok, that affects all files. Can you please post FFmpeg info on that lossless audio file?

Sorry, I thought that you meant just music files.

That file should be transcoded as-is without any changes to the Advanced tab. Did you send in the transcoding logs? If you have, do you have a support case number so that I could look it up?

Sure. Do you have a RAID or just individual drives?
