    Default Changing MezzmoMediaServer.exe process priority

    Hello good people,

I've bought Mezzmo a few weeks ago, after trying it for some days, I love it.
It is working very well with my Philips 37PFL7605H/12 TV (7000 series, year 2010 model).
I'm now using the new 2.3.0 version.

One thing I can't get to work is how to change the process priority.
From experience with Foobar2000 with the UPnP component (which I use for audio files), changing the process priority to High does make a difference.
Browsing through folders and files on the TV is much faster, more responsive.
But I can't change the MezzmoMediaServer.exe process priority, I get an "Access is denied" error.
When I installed Mezzmo, I've put my user and password, and I have Administrator privileges.
    Btw, it's Windows XP SP3.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

You'll need to run Task Manager as administrator as well and that may let you change the priority. It will be reset when you stop/start the server though, I think... Does leaving it as "normal" have an adverse effect on your browsing experience?

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

Well yes, it's noticeably slower browsing through folders and files on the TV than Foobar2000, which I set to high priority.
Foobar at normal priority is similar to Mezzmo.
I'll try to run TaskManager as Administrator, thanks for the tip.
Btw, great support, fast answer! And you guys are on the other side of the world!

    Hi Dennis,

I've been looking at this and I really see no way.
Let's put this in context: my Windows XP is a local multiuser installation.
Both me, my wife and kid can login to the computer, each one has his/her own user.
    There is no "Administrator" user.
The Administrator is my user (carlos).
It doesn't seem logical that I need to create a new user and give it specifically the name "Administrator", a user that I will never use (but if it is created, it will show up on the login screen) so that I can change the process priority.
I can't run TaskManager as administrator because there is no "Administrator" user.
    My user's properties say "Administrator".

I would suggest that when installing, Mezzmo's service could optionally (yes or no) be created as a system service, instead of per user basis.
That would solve the problem in all cases.
Mezzmo is the only service I can't change priority (except some protected OS services).

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes, it's not the easiest operation to change priority if the other users of your PC do not have admin rights. The only option would be to run the Task Manager as your user then ("Carlos"), since you have admin rights.

We decided to have Mezzmo as a per-user service to allow different users of the PC to have their own media libraries - this is a benefit, but yes, it does have its own downsides (e.g. asking for the password).

This actually does help navigating on my WDTV Live too. Is there anyway to get this as an Option in mezzmo. Because in windows you have to reapply it every time the service is stopped or a reboot.

I would suggest a software like Process Lasso. Here is a link to a nag version. But it will set priorities for you...
