I'm one of the people who was having problems with Mezzmo media server not starting in Windows 7, and the fix was fairly simple, setting the media server to delayed start in services. This works most of the time, but on occasion when my PC restarts, media server doesn't start and I have to manually start it. My suggestion, and I have seen this in other media servers like playon, is that the Mezzmo icon in the system tray indicate if the media server is running or not. It is always green, but it could turn red if not running. Playon has an "X" appear in the icon. Then, at a glance, you would know if it is running without having to right-click to see if it says "stop" or "start" media server.
